Boys’ and Girls’ School House Relays 2016
November 21, 2016 at 1:41 PM
A sea of colour covered the top field, as both the Boys’ and Girls’ Schools came together for the annual House relay competition. Each year group fielded a team of runners, while the rest of the boys and girls sat in the stands, cheering on their House representatives.
There were some extremely close races which required additional sets of eyes on the finish lines and discussions afterwards, to ensure the correct finishing order was giving. House chants echoed across the field as the races got underway, and our ‘rhythmic’ Chaplain took the lead on the ever-popular YMCA dance. All in all, this made for a great morning of House spirit and competition!
A new addition to the House relays was the Mannequin Challenge - a viral internet video trend where people remain frozen in action like mannequins while a video is recorded, and music is playing in the background. Our Chaplain put it to the students, staff and parents and it was up to them whether they wanted to accept the challenge!
Congratulations to Chalmers House for taking the Boys’ School relay championship title and Wishart House who took out the Girls’ School title.
This was another fantastic finish to the Athletics year!
