Computer science industry visit
August 12, 2016 at 2:54 PM
This week, our Year 12 and 13 computer science students had an exciting opportunity to visit the Xero Software Development Office in downtown Auckland to meet with professional developers in their modern, working environment.
Xero is a New Zealand-based software company that develops cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses. The company has offices in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States with over 1450 employees.
Our Year 13 students had the opportunity to present their current Level 3 NCEA projects to one of the senior developers who gave very valuable and positive feedback. This feedback will be used in their computer science portfolios and will help to refine their software.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to visit a work place that specialised in their chosen line of study and were grateful for the opportunity to be able to engage with their staff. They were also made aware of the internship programme for graduates offered by Xero.
Our sincere thanks to Xero for making the time available to work with our students.
