Golfers Win Auckland Competiton

For the 2nd year in a row, the College Premier Golf team are winners of the Auckland College Sports Term 1 Golf Championships for the 9/18 hole gross competition.
After beating all the challengers this side of the bridge, and being unbeaten through all rounds played, Saint Kentigern met Massey College in the finals of the Battle of the Bridge at the Grange Golf Club Papatoetoe this week.
In breezy conditions, our team recorded a total of 3 over par total for the 3 counting rounds played with a total of 212. Meanwhile, Massey College had some misfortune with the out of bounds areas and carded 12 over par which resulted in a 9 shot win to the Saint Kentigern team.
The scores recorded for the winning team were Karl Jorgensen (67) 3 under par, Kanarn Nalam (70) level par, Erik Jorgensen (75) 5 over and Andrew Meng (76).
The squad now is are looking forward to hopefully qualifying for the National Team Championships which are to be held at the Pakuranga Golf Club in early May, with an eye on the national title to be played in Nelson later in the season.
