Silver at Winterfest Water Polo

August 23, 2016 at 9:30 AM

At the first water polo tournament of the season, the top Year 7 and 8 water polo teams from schools across Auckland came together over the weekend to compete for the coveted Winterfest title. The Boys’ School have won this tournament for the last two years but were beaten into silver place in this year’s final by a deserving team.

Plenty of practice had our swimmers well prepared which resulted in a great run through the first round for the A team, eventually losing 7-3 to Mt Maunganui in the final. Jourdan Klink was noted for his skill and was awarded an Outstanding Player Award.

Playing in B grade, the B team finished 3rd, only losing one game in the whole tournament, and going on to beat Albany Junior High School to take bronze.

Well done to all the players.
